About Us

In 1996, Kirk Barber moved to San Diego to pursue his vision for a business that would provide creative professional video services to the community with exceptional customer service.

Since the inception of Sunray Video Productions, Kirk has been able to successfully combine his expertise in computers, vast knowledge of electronics, and photographic skills to produce compelling videos that effectively tell any story in a manner that is both intriguing and unique and without becoming over-saturated with the use of meaningless special effects.

Professionalism, video quality, and personal service have always been at the top of Kirk's list of priorities. As a member of Professional Video Association of San Diego (PVASD*), Kirk has strived to raise the level of professionalism in the industry. He served four years as the President of PVASD*, providing education for the professional video community and creating an environment for video professionals to share ideas and improve their level of service to the community. Kirk has been asked to speak on a few occasions at the annual WEVA convention in Las Vegas, which hosts thousands of videographers from the United States and all over the world every year.

Sunray has been recognized both locally and nationally for their work, having received numerous awards in various categories. Sunray Video has been featured multiple times on NBC San Diego television, as well as MSNBC and NBC affiliates all over the nation in addition to the local stations of Fox and KUSI.

When Sunray began operation in 1996 video was being recorded on SVHS and VHS tape. Today the world of video has transcended many different mediums from DVD to the internet to cell phones. Traditional videotape has been replaced by numerous formats of computer files.
